Nathan Drapela

Nathan is the Learning Center Programs Manager at North Cascades Institute. Prior to joininghe Institute,, he taught English in Austria, worked with study abroad programs in Germany, and taught literature, philosophy, and German at Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Reed College. He earned a Ph.D. in German studies, during which his research centered on literature and place in the context of environmental change. At the Institute, he is fortunate to be able to meld his experience as a teacher and scholar with his lifelong love for Pacific Northwest ecosystems.
