Lance Garland
Lance spends his days fighting fire in Seattle, climbing the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, and sailing the Salish Sea. He's written for Outside, Travel and Leisure, Backpacker, Orion, Climbing, and elsewhere. Awarded the 2024 Pathfinder Prize and an American Alpine Club Catalyst Grant for uncovering the queer history of mountaineering, his writing has also been listed as The Best American Journalism and Best Backpacker Stories of All Time.
