Jeff Kish

Jeff Kish is a long-distance hiker, conservation advocate, and Executive Director of the Pacific Northwest Trail Association, where he has worked since 2016 to advance the development, stewardship, and protection of one of America's youngest National Scenic Trails.

Jeff's passion for the National Trails System was forged over thousands of miles on foot, including thru-hikes of both the Pacific Northwest Trail and Pacific Crest Trail—taking him across Washington and through the North Cascades from east to west and north to south. These experiences helped shape his commitment to connecting people with public lands and protecting the wild places that make long-distance trails possible.

In 2015, Jeff was appointed to the USDA's Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail Advisory Council, where he helped develop the trail's first comprehensive plan. He continues to help shape the future of the 1,200-mile trail through his work with federal agencies, conservation partners, and trailside communities. Jeff also serves in national trail advocacy and leadership roles with the Partnership for the National Trails System.
