Stuart Vázquez
With over 20 years of experience in the environmental field, Stuart Vázquez is the President of his own company, Eco-Lógica Magazine, which is aimed at the Latino community. Founded in 2009, Eco-Lógica Magazine has become a bridge to connect the environmental issues, programs and education with the Latino community in the Puget Sound area. Through Eco-Logica Magazine Stuart works as a consultant and educator. Stuart has worked on a range of different projects since 2009, partnering with local companies, cities and counties. Stuart participated in developing the first multifamily recycling and waste reduction pilot program for King County. Additionally, Eco-Lógica has been part of multi-family waste reduction programs in Snohomish, King and Kitsap Counties and the City of Seattle. As educator/researcher Stuart focuses in the interaction between society and environment through waste generation. Stuart is deeply involved in his community. He offers classes and training to community groups and businesses and dedicates a portion of his time to encouraging environmental awareness in the greater Puget Sound area.
From 1995-99 Stuart was the Director of Solid Waste Department for the City of Mendoza, Veracruz, Mexico. In this role he worked on a range of issues including solid waste generation and composition, implementing recycling programs, education programs, the city’s first modern landfill in the region and solid waste and recycling collection management.
