Jennifer teaches Wild Food courses at Western Washington University’s Fairhaven College. Her graduate research on Salish Sea Seaweeds included working with the support of 18 First Nations and Tribal Nations community members to gather three species of edible seaweeds, then check levels of 162 contaminants and beneficial chemicals with her team of chemists, toxicologists, and marine scientists. The results are published in the international journal PLOS One. Jennifer guides natural and cultural history trips in the Inside Passage by kayak and mothership, and chronicles coastal places and people through storytelling and visual art.
