John Goar is a retired science and math teacher and the lead astronomer at Olympic National Park. John has led telescope outreach programs and full moon hikes since 2010 (info at olympictelescope.com). John enjoys hunting for dim galaxies and comets which require dark skies to find. He is also motivated to work for dark skies to support the natural conditions which allow wildlife to thrive, especially migratory birds.
