Brendan McGarry
Brendan grew up in the traditional territory of the Duwamish people and has been lucky enough to call Western Washington home all his life. At the age of eight he met a Pileated Woodpecker that plunged him into devotion to birds and the ecosystems with which they are inextricably linked. While Brendan has worked as a professional ornithologist and been a birder for over 20 years, he most cherishes every day encounters with birds and sharing those experiences with others. Brendan finished his Master's in Environmental Education at the North Cascades Institute in 2019 and now lives in an alder forest on Vashon Island, Washington.
