Wilderness Medicine Courses
Every year, the North Cascades Institute hosts a variety of intensive First Aid skill-building courses for individuals working and playing in wilderness and remote settings. Instruction is offered by respected providers at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center on Diablo Lake in North Cascades National Park.
Students receive comprehensive scenario-based training and practical experience in an ideal remote setting, while enjoying private lodging, organic meals, and access to nearby winter recreation.

Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
Wilderness First Responder certification is the gold standard for first aid training among industry professionals and outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you work or play in remote settings, this course can help you and your crew stay safer and go further. Offered by respected provider Backcountry Medical Guides and located at the Environmental Learning Center.
