Storytime with Saul

Join Saul Weisberg, along with the Institute's new Executive Director Bec Deitrich and Program Director Michael Blackwell, to get outside with old friends and make new ones!

For this invite-only event at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center, together we'll reminisce and share stories about the intertwined 35-year history of North Cascades Institute and Saul Weisberg. As you know, Saul retired as Executive Director at the end of June, and we held an online celebration of his leadership and legacy. Now we have the chance to gather in person on Diablo Lake for more celebrating!

The main event is Saturday-Sunday, with an option to extend your stay arriving on Friday afternoon. Delicious, locally-sourced, buffet-style meals are provided, and we'll have an open bar with libations. Of course there will be time for ogling the fall colors in the forest, sharing stories, poetry reading, star-gazing as well as free time to mingle and explore. (Actual activities are weather-dependent).

In addition to celebrating Saul, you'll have the opportunity to meet Bec and Michael, and hear about what's next for North Cascades Institute.

We hope you'll be a part of this special event by bringing your own stories - how you first connected with the Institute or favorite Saul memories - poetry welcome too, of course!

Space is very limited and we recommend you register right away to reserve your spot. Guests can choose to book a room in our lodges or a commuter rate for Saturday's gathering and dinner.
