Lodges and Dining

The 16-building campus of the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center includes classrooms, a library, a dining hall and lodges where up to 92 Mountain School participants stay.

The three lodges (Pine, Cedar, and Fir) are tucked away on the hillside behind the main buildings of the Environmental Learning Center. Each room sleeps four individuals with two shared bathrooms in each lodge.

While the students sleep the night away, there is always a North Cascades Institute staff member on call. If any student needs assistance during the night, an adult chaperone will call this staff member for support.

Our kitchen team offers appealing, wholesome meals suited to younger palettes that are made from healthy foods.

We do our best to support local farms by buying food within a range of 150 miles from the Learning Center. That, along with providing vegetarian meals, creates a sustainable, healthy and yummy menu for students and the planet!
