Come enjoy the great outdoors with your family in the heart of North Cascades National Park! Situated on the wooded shores of Diablo Lake, three hours from Seattle or two from Bellingham, the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center beckons in Fall with inviting lodges, cozy library, lakeside dining hall, outdoor gathering spaces and network of trails.

Are you tired of the stress of cooking a large Thanksgiving meal? Do you want a place to relax with family, make new friends, have fun, learn about the environment and have all the delicious food provided? Come create a new family tradition this year and join us for our Thanksgiving Family Getaway inside North Cascades National Park. This retreat is designed for families that are committed to connecting with each other and with nature, while enjoying wonderful food, people and educational programs.

The theme of the weekend is harvest traditions from around the world. As well as having a sumptuous traditional Thanksgiving meal on Saturday, our kitchen team will be providing an international flare for our other meals. Our retreat will offer activities including making apple butter & sauerkraut, a field trip to view spawning salmon and learn about their incredible journeys  and a visit a local apple farm in Rockport.

At the conclusion of every Getaway, you'll feel inspired and refreshed, your children will have a new tribe of friends, and you'll wonder how soon before you and your family can return to the Learning Center!

We welcome groups that include parents, grandparents, children, guardians, aunts and uncles and nontraditional families. Children under three years of age can be added to the family registration at no charge. Children are the responsibility of a parent throughout the program.
