Join North Cascades Institute for the Doctober premier of 399: Queen of the Tetons at Pickford Film Center in Bellingham
Called “the most famous grizzly bear on Earth” and an “ambassador for grizzly bears,” Grizzly 399 is so well-known that paparazzi and fans follow her every move throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. But in a warming world and amid increasing human encroachment, can she and her four cubs continue to thrive? And what will happen to 399 and her fellow “roadside bears” should they lose the protection of the Endangered Species Act? Explore the push-pull between humans and wildlife as seen through the lens of “one damn special bear.”
Stick around for a Q&A on local grizzly bear issues following the film with Conservation NW's Joe Scott, North Cascades National Park's Jason Ransom and Sierra Club's Rick Eggerth!
