Field Instructors:

Our field instructors lead high school students on 8- and 12-day backcountry courses focused on outdoor skills, community and leadership development, natural and cultural history of the North Cascades ecosystem and climate change education.  We seek to hire experienced backcountry instructors that are representative of or committment to supporting the diverse student population that we support on our trips.  

Hiring Timeline:

Applications for the Summer 2020 season open Feb 14, 2020

Interviewing begins mid-March, work offers announced early April

Season runs June 10 - August 29 or June 10 - July 31 

Internship:

Our interns are interested in developing their environmental education and outdoor leadership skills and assist field instructors in leading 8- and 12-day backcountry courses. This introductory position is designed to provide job training as well as practical application of learned skills. We seek to hire interns that have been alumni of our Youth Leadership Adventure program (or similar programs) or are excited to gain hands on experience in environmental and outdoor education.   

Interns must be at least 18 years old as of June 10, 2020, have received a high school diploma, GED or similar certification, have completed one year of college-level coursework and be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate college or university.
