North Cascades Institute is honored to work with Scott Schuyler—member and elder of the Upper Skagit Tribe. The Upper Skagit Tribe are ancestral inhabitants of the region we now refer to as the North Cascades, though their tenure here of course precedes this name. They are still active here to this day, involved in management processes as well as their traditional ways of life.

Register for this course to hear Scott speak to the history of the Tribe, the ways that the Tribe interacts with the landscape, and how climate change is affecting their lifeways.

his is a rare opportunity to hear an elder speak and to gain a perspective that we don't often receive.
