Join local environmental artist Claire Giordano for a colorful day exploring our world with watercolor! In this unique workshop at the stunning Seahurst Park in the heart of the Salish Sea ecosystem, we will spend a full day connecting to and painting classic Pacific Northwest land—and seascapes.

Over the past 10 years of creating evocative images of local landscapes — for both artistic as well as scientific purposes — Claire devised a way to work with watercolor that is fun and accessible to artists of all levels. If you've seen her virtual programs, you should have a sense of her practical and powerful approach to watercolors.

In this special outing, Claire will share her favorite techniques for water, woods, and mountains as we explore the park together. She will also walk us through a landscape painting (or two!) with a follow-along demo so we can put our new skills into practice.

There will also be opportunities for students to share creations with the group, ask questions, and receive feedback on paintings.

This class is for painters of all levels. If the cost of purchasing your own painting materials for the class is a barrier to you, please email Claire, as she has a few simple watercolor sets that folks can borrow for the outing.

Scholarships and Student, Military and Disability discounts are available for most in-person programs. Call (360) 854-2599 for more info!
