Gain the confidence to explore the outdoors without worry with Jason Knight—the author of the bestselling book The Essential Skills of Wilderness Survival. Jason has consulted as a local wilderness skills expert for the Discovery Channel and has been featured on NPR. He provides custom survival training to a broad range of clients including the WA State Department of Ecology and the US Forest Service.

Together we’ll discover the core skills of outdoor survival that will help prevent and keep you safe in emergencies at this hands-on field class. Learn the basics of survival shelter building, water purification, fire-making, basic wild foods, and survival kits.

In this small-group Field Excursion amongst the old growth forest at Rasar State Park in the Skagit Valley, you'll be a part of skills demonstrations like learning how to build a survival shelter from natural materials. We’ll practice fire-starting and also go on a wild edible plants walk!

Scholarships and Student, Military and Disability discounts are available for most in-person programs. Call (360) 854-2599 for more info!
