The Gorge Inn is one of the oldest buildings constructed in Newhalem. It was originally the cookhouse for providing meals to City Light workers in the early days of constructing the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project. Over time, it also hosted thousands of visitors who came to the area to experience Skagit Tours.

Now you can relive history with a unique dining experience in the heart of the North Cascades: the “Dam Good” Chicken Dinner! Gather your friends and family at the recently renovated Gorge Inn where you’ll be treated to a mouth-watering plate of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a tossed salad - vegetarians can opt for veggie lasagna. Then top it off with homemade apple pie!

Before dinner, you are invited to join us for an optional 45-minute walking tour of historic Newhalem.
