Running water, wind in the treetops, birdsong: Join us in North Cascades National Park to learn how to channel the sounds of the wilderness in this unique course exploring the music of nature. Using the acoustic musical instrument of your choice, you will learn to hear and identify the natural music of the North Cascades and find ways to express this pristine soundtrack through basic music elements in your songs and playing.

Playing the Music of the North Cascades
Anyone and everyone — from a recent beginner with an understanding of the basics of their chosen instrument to semi-professionals who would like to take their music down untried avenues — will learn from this workshop. We will start from where you’re at and build from there, learning universal themes for creating evocative nature-inspired music.

Gathering beneath towering peaks in the forest next to the Skagit River in Newhalem, this unconventional class will give you a wealth of ideas and a lasting wellspring of inspiration for making music in the Great Outdoors!
