William Dietrich

William Dietrich is a career journalist, novelist, and author of Northwest environmental non-fiction on the spotted owl battle, Puget Sound, the Columbia River and nature. Newspaper stories included the eruption of Mount St. Helens, Hanford, and the Exxon Valdez oil spill, for which he won a Pulitzer Prize with the Seattle Times. His non-fiction has won the Washington Governor’s Award and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award. His best-selling Ethan Gage adventure series has been published in 28 languages. He was raised in Tacoma, reported from Bellingham, Olympia, Vancouver, and Seattle, and now lives in Anacortes.
