One way to give to the Institute is through in-kind support like equipment, supplies and printing. We always are in need of quality outdoor gear for the youth that participate for free in our education programs.
To ensure future generations benefit from the Institute’s education programs, please consider joining the Headwaters Club by naming North Cascades Institute as a beneficiary in your will.
Donors choose to join the Headwaters Club for two key reasons:
- They deeply believe in our educational mission. If we just continue to try to fix things, but don’t educate people about essential systems and causes, what will ever change?
- They trust the Institute’s financial management, leadership and vision. The Institute is audited annually and, in 2013, received its tenth consecutive four-star rating from Charity Navigator – only 1% of America’s charities are rated as highly. We have appropriate reserve funds, a viable strategic plan and a clear vision for our future.
If you would like information on how to name the Institute in your will, please contact us at (360) 854-2596. Or, if you have named the Institute in your will and we don’t know it, contact us. We would love to recognize your generous support. Thank you!
North Cascades Institute is committed to the restoration of our public lands. We are working to conserve the natural environment not only through education, but also through direct action. Our public lands need support in the form of trail work, native plant restoration, campsite maintenance and scientific research. Our volunteer Stewardship and Citizen Science programs give you the opportunity to donate your time to our mission to conserve and restore Northwest environments.
Our volunteer stewardship program, , needs helping hands in preserving the plant ecology and recreational opportunities in the North Cascades. We are working to reduce the impact that National Park and Forest visitors make on the environment. Through native plant restoration, trail work, and campsite maintenance, we are keeping our areas of impact intact, allowing people to enjoy the wilderness without changing the ecosystem around it.
Citizen Science projects are another way to give your time to the mission of North Cascades Institute, helping with scientific research in the North Cascades. We are working with North Cascades National Park on the Butterfly Monitoring Project, identifying butterflies in the alpine meadows of the North Cascades. This research is essential baseline data for tracking butterfly populations in our changing climate.
This and other research projects need your help to continue. Learn more about our projects and help with the future of the North Cascades now.
