By popular demand, we’ve created a new introductory course for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to learn about the dynamic natural history of the Pacific Northwest. This course will explore the local natural history of North Cascades National Park and surrounding areas.
The class, led by knowledgeable National Park staff and Institute naturalists, will offer an introduction to field journaling, plant keying and identification, life zones and the flora and fauna of the North Cascades. Our explorations will occur on the trail, by canoe, as well as back in the classroom,
When you’re not learning about wildflowers, geology, old-growth forest ecology and the famous Cascadian carnivores, you’ll enjoy dining on healthful, organic, delicious meals prepared in our lakeside dining hall and comfortable repose each night in our guest lodges.
