Since the 1880s, the abundant waters of the Skagit River Watershed have provided power for the city of Seattle. The three dams on the Skagit River – Gorge, Diablo and Ross – are inexorably linked to the cultural history of the Skagit Valley and the North Cascades and are rich with intertwined tales of visionaries, forces of nature and feats of engineering.

This tour begins with a walking tour of Newhalem, a delicious lunch at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center, a Diablo Lake Boat Tour and the rare opportunity to tour the Ross and Diablo Powerhouses!
These Tours begin in Newhalem at 9 am and conclude at 3:30 pm. They will be offered June 21 and 22, September 20 and 21 and October 4 and 5 and are limited to the first 20. Cost is $40 per person; participants must be over age 12.
