This guided shuttle tour explores the natural and cultural history highlights of the area. An experience for the more adventurous, this option combines explorations along the North Cascades Highway, a short hike, a box lunch picnic and a look inside one of the Skagit Hydroelectric Project's powerhouses.

Led by professional North Cascades Institute naturalists and National Park rangers, you’ll learn how water and ice have shaped this dramatic and isolated landscape, making it both ideal and challenging for developing a hydroelectric project. You’ll also learn about the natural and cultural history of this unique region, including wildlife, birding, geology, and stories of the 8000 year human history of this area.
Leaving from Newhalem Saturdays and Sundays, July 5 - September 8, 2013, these trips last from 10 am til 3 pm and are limited to the first 13.
